Hello, and thank you for visiting AfriLux Events. I’m Vanessa Outland, Founder and Principal Planner of AfriLux Events Management, LLC—and it truly brings me joy to share the heart behind this company.
Event planning has always been part of my DNA. As the youngest of ten in a large Liberian (West African) family, celebration was our love language. Weekend cookouts, baptisms, graduations, baby showers, weddings—you name it, we honored it. I grew up understanding that gatherings are more than events; they are where culture, connection, and legacy meet.
Those early experiences shaped not only my passion—but my standard.
Over the past fifteen years, I’ve designed and executed countless events, from intimate birthday dinners to elaborate weddings and milestone celebrations. In 2020, during the quiet and uncertainty of the pandemic, I leaned fully into what I knew I was called to do and earned a Master Certificate in Event Management from the International Institute of Event Management—transforming lifelong passion into refined expertise.
AfriLux was officially launched in 2021, inspired by my West African roots and a bold desire for people to experience African Luxury at least once in their lifetime.
To me, African Luxury is not simply aesthetic—it is richness in detail, excellence in execution, warmth in hospitality, cultural pride, and an unwavering commitment to elevated experiences. It is the feeling of being seen, honored, and celebrated with intention.
At AfriLux, I personally oversee each event to ensure our standards of excellence are met and that every experience reflects the level of care and refinement our clients deserve.

My career in the Federal Government—most recently serving as a Senior Advisor focused on workplace excellence, engagement, and organizational culture—has equipped me with the ability to manage events that demand diplomacy, strategic design, and seamless execution.
These experiences allow AfriLux to offer elevated support for corporate holiday celebrations, business milestone gatherings, and team-building retreats—bringing professionalism, creativity, and operational excellence to every event.
Nonprofit Leadership & Community Impact
Beyond the corporate world, I am also a founding Board Member of The Fortune Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering minority youth and creating pathways for education, community support, and personal success.
